Mettendo ordine tra le foto della recente vacanza a Salisburgo con mamma e papà, giorni di spensieratezza e gioia indimenticabili che porterò sempre nel mio cuore, mi sono soffermata su quelle del castello di Hellbrunn ed ho pensato che proprio non posso fare a meno di parlarvene!
Era l'anno 1621 quando l'arcivescovo Marcus Sitticus von Hohenems, da poco eletto principe di Salisburgo, si rivolgeva all'architetto Santino Solari per l'edificazione di una residenza di campagna che appagasse la sua propensione per l'architettura italiana, in stile neo - barocco, da collocare tra i boschi a sud di Salisburgo, comoda e raggiungibile in pochi minuti di carrozza; il punto in cui avviare i lavori edili fu scelto laddove si trovava una delle numerose sorgenti che popolano il sottosuolo della zona alpina, da cui il nome appunto, "hell" / chiara, "Brunn" (dal tedesco rinascimentale) / pozzo, sorgente, ed è proprio l'acqua di questa sorgente, tutt'ora vitale e misteriosamente ingeliva anche in pieno inverno, la vera anima dell'intero parco a fare di Hellbrunn un raro capolavoro di ingegnieria idraulica che continua a lasciarmi estasiata ogni volta che torno a visitarlo.
Nessuno di loro sapeva che stavano per dare vita a quella che sarebbe diventata una vera e propria gemma che sarebbe rimasta per secoli incastonata tra le vallate cupe del verde dei cedri e degli abeti senza tempo, custodita e conservata con amore e doveroso orgoglio.
E' l'acqua la magica protagonista della mistica atmosfera che soggioga i visitatori in ogni angolo del parco,

anima zampilli che giocosamente sgorgano dal pavimento, dalle pareti che fiancheggiano i sentieri, da statue, da sedili azionati o dalla pressione dei piedi in alcuni punti del camminamento o da pulsanti sapientemente fatti nascondere dal Sitticus,
produce forza motrice azionando curiosi meccanismi
genera suoni flautati da cui spesso si è avvolti nelle grotte in cui alloggiano statue di figure mitologiche.
Tutto questo per prendersi gioco, a volte con scopo di mero divertimento,a volte con scherno, dei propri ospiti che, per lasciarsi alle spalle la calura dei giorni estivi della "città", lo seguivano volentieri, talora accompagnandosi con leggiadre signore con le quali “preferivano” non mostrarsi in pubblico..
E questa volta vi saluto in musica, sulle note dell'aria del Don Giovanni di Mozart, "Là ci darem la mano", che accompagna il movimento dell'incantevole e stupefacente teatro in miniatura, azionato dal più sofisticato meccanismo che qui si possa trovare; in questa nicchia preservata dalle intemperie e dai secoli l'acqua muove centinaia di figure che sembrano svolgere attività quotidiane in una via dei primi del settecento ed aziona, contemporaneamente, un organo idraulico .. qui l'utilizzo dello scorrere dell'acqua raggiunge il risultato decisamente più .. imponente !
Questo è il parco di Hellbrunn, in cui ancora oggi, tra sobri scenari ed attimi di emozione e di divertimento, si percepisce lo spirito con cui fu concepito, qui, ancor oggi, si cammina tra sogno e realtà.

THE PARK OF THE CASTLE OF HELLBRUNN, SUSPENDED BETWEEN DREAM AND REALITY.
While tidying up the photos of the recent holiday with mom and dad in Salzburg, days of carefree and unforgettable joy that I will always take in my heart, I focused on those of Hellbrunn castle and I thought that I just cannot really avoid the temptation of talking you about it!

It was the year 1621 when the archbishop Sitticus Marcus von Hohenems, recently elected Prince of Salzburg, intrusted the architect Santino Solari with building a country residence that could satisfy his passion for Italian architecture, early – baroque styled, that should have been placed in the woods in the south of Salzburg, comfortable and just at a few minutes of carriage from the town; the point where placing the construction work was chosen where there was one of the many sources that populate the subsoil of the alpine zone, from which the name exactly, "hell" / clear and "Brunn" (from the Renaissance German) / well, water - spring, and it is the water of this still life – giving and mysteriously frost-proof even in winter spring, the true soul of the entire park to do Hellbrunn a rare masterpiece of hydraulic engineering that continues to leave me ecstatic every time I come back.. None of them knew that they were going to give birth to what would have become a real gem that would have been remaining for centuries, situated between the valleys of the dark green of timeless cedars and firs, guarded and preserved with love and proper pride.

That's the water the magical character of the mystical atmosphere that subjugates the visitors in every corner of the park,

hundreds of meters to walk between avenues of which you do not see the limit, of coniferous trees, many of which still original, it fills fairytale ponds inhabited by wild ducks

gives life to jets that playfully spring from the floor, from the walls lining the paths, statues, or from the seats, operated by the pressure of the feet in some places of the walkway or from buttons dutifully hidden from Sitticus,

generates fluted sounds which often wrapped you in the caves in which are housed statues of mythological figures.

All this to make fun, sometimes with the purpose of mere entertainment, sometimes with scorn, with their guests, who followed him willingly, left the heat of summer days of the "city", often accompanied with graceful ladies with whom they "preferred" not to appear in public ..

And this time I'm greeting you in music, with the notes of the air Mozart's Don Giovanni, "Là ci darem la mano," which accompanies the movement of the enchanting and amazing miniature theater, driven by the most sophisticated mechanism that you can find here; in this niche, preserved from the weather and the centuries, the water moves hundreds of figures that seem to perform daily activities in a street of the early eighteenth century and operates, at the same time, a hydraulic organ .. Here the use of flowing water reaches the result definetely much more .. impressive!

This is the park of Hellbrunn, where even today, between sober scenes and moments of excitement and fun, you may feel the spirit in which it was conceived, here, even today, you walk between dream and reality.
